Rainbows gives children the opportunity to talk about their feelings with peers in a safe and nurturing environment. This helps them to feel less alone with any grief, loss or challenges they have or are facing. It allows them to understand there are others who are going through similar experiences. As a result pupils’ self-esteem and confidence grows and they are in a far stronger position to engage with school life and achieve their full potential.
Mrs Hobbs, Mr Samuels, Mrs Hargreaves, Mrs Parkes and Ms Gardner have all received training to enable them to facilitate this course.
We have worked together to adapt the resources to meet the needs of the children and we are incredibly proud of The Rainbow Room - a dedicated safe space in school that allows children to sit quietly, reflect, calm down or participate in specific pastoral support sessions.
It is our room of hope.
