Cultural Capital

At St. Cuthbert’s, we aim to enhance each child’s educational learning through the teaching of Cultural Capital. We do this by threading a golden thread of Cultural Capital throughout our lessons. We ensure children are exposed to the scientists, artists, musicians, sculptors, engineers relevant to the topic they are learning.

We want our children to have a wider knowledge and understanding of their world and be introduced to new experiences, concepts and people that will raise their aspirations, as well as provide essential knowledge that will help to prepare them for future success.

We are very proud to be living in Birmingham. We want our children to also develop pride in their City. Therefore, each class will learn about a famous 'Brummie' and study a piece of Birmingham Architecture. Children will also go on a trip in the city. Our children will learn about Birmingham and how it has changed and developed into a multicultural, vibrant city.

Each KS2 class will also learn about an aspect of Ancient Greek civilisation.
