Lunch time

  • Times for lunch have altered slightly to help support us in the delivery of a safe lunchtime.
  • Lunchtime for Nursery will be 11:45am – 12:30pm
  • Lunchtime for Reception will be 11:45am – 1:00pm
  • Lunchtime for KS1  will be 12:00 – 1:00pm and 12.15 - 1.00pm for KS2.
  • Each class are allocated a lunchtime supervisor who assists them in the dinner hall and then leads them outside to the playground or field.
  • One supervisor with a member of the senior team will co-ordinate lunchtime in the hall.
  • All children will wash their hands before lunch; if they have been outside before they are called to the hall they have to either sanitise or wash their hands again.
  • Nursery and Reception will be brought to the hall by their class staff
  • Year 2 will go to their play are at 12.00
  • Year 3-6 will be sent outside to their play area when the bell goes at 12:15.
  • Year 1 – Year 6 will be collected and brought to the hall by the staff on duty in the lunch hall.

  • One class will be served at a time – the dinner hatch has a newly fitted Perspex screen in line with guidance from Citiserve (our catering providers)
  • All classes (bubbles) have 3 allocated tables to sit at, and once they have their lunch they cannot move around the hall again until they are sent out.
  • The members of staff on duty in the hall will collect trays and rubbish and when individual bubbles are ready, they will be taken to their outside area; they have to sanitise their hands and wash them when they return to the classroom at the end of lunchtime.
  • The members of staff on duty in the hall will clean and disinfect each table when they are cleared and a new class bubble will be called when three tables are free (these tables will be together).
  • Each class has their own individual play area and play equipment. Classes cannot share play equipment or go into another class’s area.
  • Each lunchtime supervisor carries their own first aid kit around with them to see to small first aid injuries.
  • If it is ‘wet play’ then classes remain in their classroom and lunchtime supervisors will have access to appropriate activities for the children in their class.
  • Each class has a set of allocated toilets – they can only use these toilets throughout the day.
